Who am I?

Mike HansenWell there is not much to tell. I’m a quiet guy who love spending time online with my friends and also enjoy the company of a few select friends in RL. I have a few jobs here and there, working as an IT consultant and freelance system administrator. It is pretty nice working this way, since you can decide how you want to spend your time each day, yourself. I love having that freedom.

I am visually disabled, being close to legally blind, though I am still able to use my scooter and get around on my own. It’s something I was born with and I am not really bothered with it, except when I get frustrated over not having a car for special jobs. Though because of the glasses I had to use because of this, my childhood has been rather hard to tell the truth. I kept getting picked on in school because of my glasses. Took a lot out of me and made me distrustful of anyone I met.

Back in 1995 something happened that changed my life, though. I became a Christian. After I lost my second oldest brother in 1994 from an accident, I had started to wonder about myself and life in general. And as I started my next education, I met this weird person who also lived in the same town as I do. We became friends and not long after he invited me to church. That night, Moses Hansen was speaking and he did what many couldn’t do. He saw directly through me and told me exactly what was wrong. I was convinced. After that, I’ve been a Christian and learned how to walk as one, trying hard not to make mistakes on the way, though that is rather hard and as every one ells on this earth, I do fall for temptation here and there… I love my God and trust fully in him. I attend the free Church in Aarup, where some of my closest friends can also be found.

I met my wife on the internet back in 94 and we started dating in 99. She’s from the US, but after our wedding in 2002 she moved to Denmark and here we enjoy ourselves quite a bit. We have ourselves a nice little house with a big garden and 2 cats. Lots of stuff to take care of, but hey it’s relaxing to just dive in to these tasks together and forget about the daily duties on the job. We also have friends over rather often by now. Something I never thought I would be doing just 10 years ago, but now I enjoy it quite a bit. Though sometimes it can be too much and I will close the door to my office and just relax there for a day or so.

My trust in people is still a bit rough around the edges, but online in the furry community and in church, I’ve started to really relax and open op.

One of my great joys is music! I just LOVE music! I listen to almost all types, though am rather select about which artists and numbers I play. I like Mike Oldfield a lot together with Petra and Newsboys. Mike Oldfield covers a lot of different styles, but his attitude to what he makes make it worth listening to, if you ask me. Petra and Newsboys got some really cool Christian music!

Music for me, is the movement of my soul. It inspires me, brightens my mood, enhances my mood and feelings. It is something I can use when I just want to relax or when I have a lot of anger in my system. Then I put on some hard music, that can help take my frustrations away. I am a bit of an audiophile person. You will never find me with a cheap set of headphones or normal onboard soundcard. It does mean that it has become a rather expensive hobby. Not just in hardware but also the fact that I buy CDs instead of just buying downloadable music. But if you want the best, you just have to pay for it.

I do make my own music as well, however it’s far from good enough to send out on CD, but hey. I do it for the joy of doing it, nothing ells. It is something I can relax with and can get my feelings out through. You can find some of it under Music.

Both my wife and I have been furries (anthropomorphic) for a long time. For me it is just something I enjoy to read about and have some fun with these days. I do have a large collection of plushies and artwork, but it’s not deeper than that.

Felan

My character Felan (picture by Jeanette ‘Illys’ Hansen) is an arctic wolf. I do role-play with him every now and then, but it is more or less it. Beyond that, he’s just a fun memory for me.

He shares a lot of things with me, like always wearing a silver cross in a silver chain around his neck and his left eye is green and the right blue. He has thick creamy white fur and long head-fur (hair) which is always gathered in a ponytail. His hands have a grayish leathery surface on the pads that is used to grip things and soft short white fur covering up to his wrist, where the longer fur starts. Sharp claws stick out of his fingers, though they can be retracted, which is unusual for canines but very practical. His legs are normal but his feet are paw-shaped with a heel. His foot pads are dark gray or almost black. Again they have a very leathery texture that together with his claws, keeps him from slipping. In his child form, he is around 115cm high and in his adult form, he is around 188cm high.

His clothes are more for show than for keeping him warm or dry, since his fur is thick and decently weather proof. He usually wears very loose fitting pants and a t-shirt that is open in the front and hold together with a silk sash or a leather belt. He usually uses bright colors in his choice of clothes to get it to accent with his white fur, though he does have other clothes for when he want to just blend in with nature.
